Candidate Comparison Tool for the Daily News and Gotham Gazette

The 2021 Democratic Primary for NYC Mayor's race featured dozens of candidates. To help New Yorkers better understand their options, Gotham Gazette an the Daily News came together to create a web app that allows people to select the candidates and issues they want to compare, and then see those candidates side by side -- like a car comparison tool.

Sarapis worked with the clients from the project's initial concept phase. We proposed using Airtable as a backend, structured that Airtable, trained their team to enter data, designed and built the app -- all in less than a month!

We used Airtable as the content management system, SyncInc as the database and a custom-built Laravel application for the interface. The app is currently embedded on the Daily News and Gotham Gazette websites where it's received tens of thousands of views.
